Tostadas Coyoacan

I’ve written before that my favorite part of Mexico City is Coyoacan. I love it so much that when I found a place I could afford there I immediately took it. I am one block away from a big supermarket, a couple of blocks away from a subway station and about 5 minutes away from downtown Coyoacan. In that fried quesadilla post I wrote a little bit about the history of this part of town. I promise I’ll write more about it, but today I only want to share with you something delicious I ate there last week: the famous tostadas de Coyoacan inside the Coyoacan market.

They have so many kinds of tostadas that there was very difficult to choose only a couple for lunch. At the end I decided to try the beef tostada and pata de puerco or pork feet (first picture). I know what you might be thinking, but trust me, they are so delicious that you don’t even think about what it really is. And they are served with letucce, cheese, sour cream, avocado slices and you can add any of the different kinds of salsas they have, more than 5 I believe, so the flavor ends up being just amazing, like a fiesta with a lot of señoritas in your mouth.

I’ve never cooked pork feet before, but I’ve made plenty of other tostadas and soon I’ll post more recipes of this delicious Mexican treat. Here’s the list of some tostada recipes.
