Mango Guacamole

Mango guacamole

[donotprint]One of the items that intrigued more people at the Foodbuzz Taco Party last weekend was the guacamole. Some of the guests had had my regular guacamole before, but when they tried this one they couldn’t identify what gave it the sweet kick. This “sweet kick” was delivered by my favorite fruit ever, mango. Gucamole is one of the most delicious Mexican salsas, but when you add mango it takes it to a whole new level of tastiness. I tried this guacamole for the first time with chicken last year. It can be eaten as a snack with tortilla chips, in quesadillas, flautas (like the ones in the pictures) or over tacos like some of my guests did las weekend. Like my friend Nate said, it melts in your mouth.[/donotprint]

[donotprint]And speaking of mangos, did you know that June is Mango month? Here’s the information I received from the National Mango Board. I hope you all find it informative and helpful:

Kids ages 8-14 are invited to create an original recipe featuring fresh mangos, create a seven minute video demonstrating how to make their mango marvel, upload it on and submit their entry on Hurry though, the contest closes on June 30th, when the three finalists will be selected to travel to Hollywood, CA to compete for the grand prize of $500 and the title of 2009 Rising Mango Star at California School of Culinary Arts, Le Cordon Bleu Program, Pasadena | Hollywood.[/donotprint]
