Mango Guacamole

Mango guacamole

[donotprint]One of the items that intrigued more people at the Foodbuzz Taco Party last weekend was the guacamole. Some of the guests had had my regular guacamole before, but when they tried this one they couldn’t identify what gave it the sweet kick. This “sweet kick” was delivered by my favorite fruit ever, mango. Gucamole is one of the most delicious Mexican salsas, but when you add mango it takes it to a whole new level of tastiness. I tried this guacamole for the first time with chicken last year. It can be eaten as a snack with tortilla chips, in quesadillas, flautas (like the ones in the pictures) or over tacos like some of my guests did las weekend. Like my friend Nate said, it melts in your mouth.[/donotprint]

[donotprint]And speaking of mangos, did you know that June is Mango month? Here’s the information I received from the National Mango Board. I hope you all find it informative and helpful:

¡Buen provecho!

  • you’re killing me….what a perfect combo

  • I agree with dawn. I can see why your guests would gravitate towards this combination Ben:D

  • The title of this post certainly enticed me to read more. I think with adding the mango you needed the counterbalance of the jalapeno and I like the idea of the flautas.

  • Mango and avocado is a great combo, so great in the guacamole! I will definitely be trying this! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

  • Ooh! I like the idea of adding mango…Would def. take this salsa to a whole new level.

  • First time I see mango in guacamole. That must have an interesting flavor.

  • I’ll have to give this a try – I am only a recent convert of adding fruit to my more savory dishes. 🙂

  • What a fabulous idea, Ben! I can’t wait to try this.

  • This is one fantastic idea!

  • Hi Ben, I am totally in for this! I want to try this for sure. Do you use green skin or yellow skin mango. I find the yellow skin from Thailand are usually better tasted but not so easy to find to Europe sometimes.
