Avocado Dip

Avocado dip

I can’t believe it is Thursday already. Time really flies when you are having fun, right? This was a short week here in the States because of Memorial Day so I decided to tackle (or at least try to) a house project. It is far from done, but at least I took the first steps. Anyway, I haven’t been cooking much this week because of that and because I am getting ready for an special event I’ll be hosting Saturday (big party with tons of food all prepared by me. That sounds like fun, doesn’t it?)

I will be writing about it all next week, but today I wanted to share with you one of the experiments I will be serving:  avocado dip. Though this dip resembles guacamole, that’s not what it is. This is made with 6oz of cream cheese, 1 avocado, the juice of one lime and a dash of salt. These ingredients give it a very unique and delicious flavor. Serve it with a vegetable tray and bread and you’ll be very popular at any party. You can even spread it over sandwiches and bagels to give them a new twist in flavor. I made chicken sandwiches with this and Jon loved them. Now I just need to wait for the reaction at the party on Saturday.

Remember that What’s cooking? is hosting three events that end this weekend. The first is the giveaway of a 10″ non-stick fry-pan from SCANPAN (a $100+ pan) You only have to tell us why you’d like to win this prize here for the chance to win one.

We are also making Homemade tortillas this month for our monthly event. All the participants so far agree that it is easier than they thought. So join the fun and be part of the few brave that can claim to have made homemade tortillas 😀

Food Photographers Club is a place where we learn more about taking better food pics. The first assignment is about lighting. If you’d like to improve your photography skills I recommend you take a look at what we are doing over there. I created this so we foodies can learn from each other, isn’t that what we already do anyway?

¡Buen provecho!
