As I mentioned on my last post, I have been trying to keep away from the computer as much as possible. This week I decided it was time for my spring break/cleaning so I have been moving things around, cleaning under the furniture and pretty soon I’ll start emptying kitchen cabinets and drawers… well you get the idea, lots and lots of fun.
That’s why I haven’t been visiting my friends’ blogs or cooking as much. I hope to go back to normal next week (if I get the windows cleaned this weekend) But one has to eat, right? So a couple of products I received last week for review couldn’t have come at a better time. The first one I am reviewing is Amazing Taste Seasonings.
Of all the flavors I received I’ve only used the one to make chili. As a foodie I appreciate a chili well-done simmered for hours to bring out and blend the flavors perfectly, but as a busy person I appreciate a 20 minute chili made with a prepared seasoning. I must admit that I had my reserves when I sprinkled the seasoning over the meat and beans. But after 10 minutes of simmering the aroma and the flavor of the chili were very good. I only added about 1/2 tbsp of ground red peppers to give it a little bit more of a kick. But other than that it was a tasty and the easiest chili I’ve ever made. Judging by the price and the results I think it is a very good deal. Now if you excuse me I have some floors to scrub (sigh).

I got those as samples too. I have to admit I didn’t care for any of them. If you read the ingredients list, the first item listed for most of the packets is salt. I really like how your chili looks in the photo.

I got these too and wasn’t so impressed. Didn’t try the chili one. I guess I prefer to put together my own seasonings. Your chili *looks* good tho!
