I wasn’t going to have another Food for Plastic Challenge this month, but I just realized Tupperware is celebrating April as Children’s month. Many of their kids products and toys have 30-50% discount (you can check them out here) The best part is that they are donating $1 from the sale of selected items to the Boys & Girls Clubs. That’s why I decided to spread the word with this food event.

To participate in this third challenge you will have to cook either a dish that you loved from your childhood, or something that your kids love. It can be a dessert, appetizer, main dish and you can use any ingredient (fruit, vegetables, meat) to create the dish. Just remember that the theme for this challenge is kids.

If you own a blog:

  • Post your challenge on your blog. Create a post with your recipe, photos (if possible) and a link to this post, Food for Plastic Challenge III. Please mention on your post that Tupperware will be donating some of the sales to the Boys & Girls Clubs.
  • Using the contact form below, send me the following information: your name, the name of your blog, the URL of your blog and the permalink of the entry. Entries must be received by April 27th, 2008.

If you don’t own a blog, but still want to participate:

  • Using the form below, send your recipe, pictures (if possible) and the name of your favorite Tupperware item (a description if you don’t remember it) and the reason why you love that piece of plastic so much. I will post your recipes and pictures on this site. Entries must be received by April 27th, 2008.
  • Please spread the word about the sale for the Boys & Girls Clubs

You will be able to vote for your favorite recipe from April 28-30. The entry that receives the most votes will win a Pop-A-Lot set. Oh, how many memories! That was one of my favorite toys when I was a kid. I used to terrorize my sister with it! Hahaha!

Good luck everyone!

The contact form didn’t work so please send your entires to challenge[at]whatscooking[dot]us

Thank you!

  1. One of my favourite childhood meals is liver but don’t think anyone will vote for that lol. I’ll have to think about a dish I’ve yet to blog that I loved.

  2. Ok… I’m in again! I got over the depression that caused me not getting one single vote, lol! I know what I will post about and it’s a winner… I’m telling you :D
I’m an optimist, Ben, you can see that ;-)

  3. Hey Ben. This is a great event. My recipe that congers up memories of my childhood is simple and yet what I always think of when I was a kid. I think part of it has to do with the fact that we were able to work in the kitchen together and produce something that we loved as kids..sweet and chocolatey!!
