My mom always had me wash my hands with lemon juice to get rid of smells. There are now these fake bars of soap, they are stainless steel heres a link to one at Crate and Barrel but you can now find them at most kitchen gadget stores. http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=690&f=2774
I have not tried one yet, but they are supposed to work wonders on your hands.

I'm super sensitive to bad smells and will go to great lengths to get rid of them - I constantly spray my counters with vinegar/water solution, keep lemon slices in my dishwasher, clean my sink with baking soda. Now I'm going to try limes. Dya tink I'm just a tad obsessive?

I've found the best sure for stinky garlic/onion hands, assuming you have a stainless steel kitchen sink. Simply lather your hands with soap then rub your hands against the stainless steel, both front and back. Rinse and the garlic/onion smell will be gone. Something to do with the reaction with metal ... too much science for me, but it works!
