I believe the original recipe calls for chorizo, I just didn't have any at hand that day. Hehe, and my cat got it good that day. She loves to jump to where she is not supposed to. I used hot dogs because 1) I was out of chorizo and 2) I wanted to do prepare it like I ate it that time in Sinaloa. It is a really good dish. Chorizo works better with this dish.
